This Week


We started Moby Math this week. See your home log in sheet in the FF folder.

We worked with three digit addition this week.

During problem of the day this week we worked with our number chart for DOUBLE DIGIT addition and subtraction.

We played more Rat a Tat Cat this week. It is a GREAT card game for this age.  You can find it at Target.

We started number scrolls this week! The kids are WILDLY excited!! We have one taller than a first grader already :)

Thank you so much for all of the Halloween goodies!  The kids had a BLAST!

Reading and Writing


This week we read books about Halloween. Ask your child about Room on a Broom and The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything!  We also read several birthday books as the kids helped me celebrate a rather BIG birthday!

In writer’s workshop this week we continue to work on our own Nancy spin off books. We also wrote spooky stories and about our best birthday’s EVER!

In reading workshop this week we read just right books about Little Bear, monster math, how sunflowers grow and all about chameleons.

Our SPECIAL KID this coming week is Liliana!  We learned her favorite color is purple. Her favorite food is pasta and dumplings. She rides horses and ice skates. Liliana shows others she cares by telling them jokes when they are sad.  Lili’s poster is VERY colorful!!
