Reading and Writing
This week we read books all about Groundhog Day! With the weather the last few days we are not sure what Phil will do??
In writer’s workshop this week the kids continued circle books based on If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff. The children have created books that start with an idea. Then the main character gets distracted over and over until finally the book is brought back to the original idea.
So far we have If You Give a Chihuahua a Ball Gown, If You Take a Dragon to the Disco, If You Give a Dog a Bone, and If You Give A Pony a Pancake.
Social Studies and Science
Goldfish and snails arrived in Kriletown this week. We learned goldfish live in fresh water and breath through gills. Our fish eat fish flakes and are about one and half inches long. All of the fish are gold, but some have white bellies and some have white spots.
Our SPECIAL KID this week was Sindhuja! Sindh loves pink, pizza, is good at making her brother laugh and speaks TWO languages!!
