Reading and Writing
This week we finished up reading books written by Jane Chapman. We also began reading books by Dr. Seuss. We will be enjoying Dr. Seuss books for the next week.
In writer’s workshop this week the kids continue to work on animal research projects. At the end of this writing unit the children will be able to tell you such facts as where the animal lives, what the animal eats, if the animal lives in groups or alone and where in the world the animal can be found. This is one of the major writing projects in first grade and will take us several weeks to complete.

After reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck, the Krile Kids had a lot of fun playing with REAL oobleck. We tried to decide if oobleck is a solid or a liquid. What do you think?
